Traditional Chinese Fire Cupping

“Where there’s stagnation, there will be pain. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.” Cupping is a traditional technique that uses glass cups and heat to disperse and break up stagnation and congestion by drawing congested blood and toxins to the surface. Try fire cupping today for immediate pain relief, enhanced blood and lymphatic circulation, and support your immune system!

Does it hurt?:

Don’t let the red marks fool you! Cupping doesn’t hurt.

Many say it feels like a deep tissue massage that targets specific pain points and areas of tension.

Conditions Treated:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Poor circulation
  • Stiff muscles

WHY IT WORKS:

The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles and encourage blood flow.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is believed that pain results from the congestion, stagnation, and blockage of Qi, or vital energy, vital fluids, lymph, phlegm, and blood. If pain is the essence of disease, then suffering is a result of obstructed or irregular flow in the body. Chinese cupping is therefore a method of breaking up the blockage to restore the body’s natural flow of energy.

Glass cups are placed onto the skin with suction created with fire forming a vacuum within the cup. While the fire never touches your skin, the heat transferred from the fire warms the glass cups. These cups are sometimes moved around to create a massage effect further promoting blood circulation before allowing it to sit on the skin for targeted treatment.

Once the glass cups are removed, you should feel instant relief.

Give your body time to heal and make sure you are drinking plenty of water and taking care of yourself internally as well!

Circular red marks will often be left where the glass jars were placed. The darker the red marks are the more congestion is in that area. This way, it stimulates blood flow to that area to promote healing. The red marks will slowly fade and disappear within a week.
